We've all been told them; those cunning little lies about our plate of vegetables and greens when we were little in order to make us eat them. Our mum's like the witch disguised as a farmer's wife who gives Snow White the poisoned apple - TRICKERY!
"EATING CARROTS HELPS YOU SEE IN THE DARK'"
"EATING (INSERT-UNEATEN- VEGGIE-HERE) WILL PUT HAIRS ON YOUR CHEST."
"AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY."
"SPINACH MAKES YOU STRONGER."
"BRUSSEL SPROUTS ARE FATHER CHRISTMAS' FAVOURITE VEGETABLE."
"IF YOU EAT SWEETCORN YOU WILL BECOME A GIANT."
My favourite one... "broccoli is dinosaur grass."
Yet, no matter how many carrots I ate I still sucked at playing 'Ghostie.' A game where me and my friends would pick a person to be 'on', switch all the lights off and while the nominated person counted to ten we all had to hide. If the 'on' person found a friend they would have to shout 'Ghostie!'... also that friend had to make the 'on' person jump... yep, it was actually pretty terrifying. Or when we use to blindfold one person, again, turn all the lights off and that person had to catch a friend in the confined room... although most of the time we did have some cheating going on here escaping into different rooms *looks away innocently.*
But, now we're a bit older we all know that veggies, although they don't create superpowers (still VERY disappointing), they are SUPER-DUPER good for us! Sometimes getting in your recommended five a day can be a little tough and, lets be honest, a bit boring.
So here's 21 fun and more importantly, tasty ways to get your veggies in.

Writing this post was very difficult for me... ONE: in England we call zucchinis courgettes so a few of these recipes are named 'zucchini...' but I had to write courgette. I'm sorry, it just didn't feel right! AND TWO: there are so many amazing vegetable recipes online that I had to stop myself from spending all day writing this post so here's just a few snippets into what you can do with veg but there are HEAPS of other creative and healthy ways too. If you find some more we would love to know!
