Chocolate glazed doughnut protein french toast

I have something amazing to share with you... at first I wanted to keep it a secret and have it all too myself... but this is just TOO good to not share with everyone... it would be totally unjust for me to stop you from experiencing the same amount of happiness and joy this bag of wonder brought to me. What is it that could be so amazing you're probably asking. Well, don't worry, I am going to enlighten you. The thing I wanted to share with you is this: Protein doughnut flavoured oatmeal by Max Protein.

Yes, doughnut oatmeal is totally a thing. It actually exists.

Of course I had to make some goodies with it!

CHOCOLATE GLAZED DOUGHNUT PROTEIN FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of egg whites
  • 1/4 cup of milk (I used coconut but sub with any)
  • 2 tsp of cocoa/cacao powder
  • 1 tsp of xylitol
  • 2 tbsp of oatmeal
  • 2 high fibre slices of bread
  • 1 tsp agave nectar (or maple syrup/honey)
  • Coconut oil for frying and chocolate drizzle sauce

Method

In a small bowl mix egg whites, milk, 1 tsp of cocoa powder, xylitol and oatmeal till blended together.

Cover bread with mix and leave to soak for about 10 minutes.

Add a heaped tsp of coconut oil to a frying pan and fry the bread over a medium heat, cooking both sides until the bread has dried and browned.

In another small bowl mix the remaining tsp of cocoa powder with 1tsp of agave and 1 tsp of melted coconut oil.

Drizzle the sauce over the spread and top with rainbow sprinkles.

* You can sub the flavoured oatmeal for 2 tbsp of any regular flavoured protein powder
* Max protein's oatmeal can be bought here or for doughnut flavour alternatives try these: Flavour God seasoning or Capella flavour drops.
